FROM XILE, TO PARADAIZA.
Before PARADAIZA, there was Xile.
That was a massive part of my life. Years of buying, selling, building stores, working with great people and being part of a shop that meant a lot to a lot of folk. Xile was a huge part of growing up in fashion retail.
When that chapter ended, it was tough.
But sometimes the thing you don’t plan for is the thing that gives you the push.
PARADAIZA came from that point. A new start, but not a clean break from everything that came before. The years at Xile gave us the eye for product, the retail instinct, and the belief that an independent shop could still matter if it was built properly.
The difference this time was that we weren’t just buying other people’s brands.
We were trying to build our own.
PARADAIZA was always about creating a space of our own. Somewhere with a bit of meaning behind it. Asa took my very professional, highly polished brief, which was probably anything but, and somehow brought that idea to life with the mark.
That maze has been there from the start, and it still feels right.
BUILDING FROM SCRATCH
The thing I’ve probably enjoyed most about PARADAIZA is learning again.
You begin caring about every detail in a completely different way. Not just whether something looks good on a rail, but how it has been made, how it fits, how it wears, and whether it actually feels like PARADAIZA.
That part has been a real education
You start to realise that the finished garment is only the part people see. Before that, there’s sourcing, designing, sampling, changing, fitting, waiting, going back again, and trying not to rush something just because you’re excited to get it out.
That side of it has been brilliant.
Hard, but brilliant.
YEAR THREE
Year three feels like a big one.
The brand has grown each year, and the challenge now is to keep building without losing what makes it enjoyable in the first place.
We don’t want to rush product out just because we can. We want better fits, better fabrics, better production, and better reasons for things to exist.
There’s plenty coming. Atelier pieces, trousers, jackets, shirting, denim, and probably more ideas than is sensible.
But the job is to get them right.
That’s the bit I’m enjoying most now. Learning how things are made, meeting the people behind the product, and slowly getting closer to the brand I’ve always had in my head.
THE BIRTHDAY MONTH
To celebrate turning three, we’ve got a few things happening through September.
The big one is we're giving away an outfit and styling session with me.

Thank you to everyone who has bought something, shared a post, told a mate, popped into the shop, brought their dog in, stopped for a chat, modelled for us, worked with us, helped us make things, or just kept an eye on what we’re doing.
It all matters.
PARADAIZA started as a new beginning after a hard ending.
Three years on, it feels like we’re only just getting going.
