I wanted something relaxed at the top, comfortable through the thigh, but with shape — that perfect anti-fit, carrot silhouette. That’s where the Pinch came from.
When we first started PARA-DAIZA, the goal was simple — make trousers that actually fit how lads want to wear them.
The Pinch Chino was there from day one. It came out of a bit of frustration, really. I’d been experimenting with old vintage chinos, trying to find that sweet spot between loose and tapered. Everything on the market at the time was either drowning you or cutting off your circulation.

The name isn’t just for show. There’s a literal pinch in the pattern that creates that clean taper. But it also goes back to the 90s —
it’s a nod to the construction. There’s an actual pinch built into the pattern to achieve that subtle taper.
But it also throws back to the 90s —
when we’d buy jeans a few sizes too big just to get that low-slung, baggy look.
Then we’d “pinch and tuk” them at the back to tighten the fit. Total DIY tailoring. That’s where the idea — and the name — stuck.
Since then, the Pinch has taken on a life of its own. It’s become our most-reviewed piece online, with nothing but five-star feedback.
One customer put it better than I ever could:
“From the moment I tried them on, they just worked. Perfect fit, effortless style, and somehow they manage to be both polished and insanely comfortable...
You know that pair you always reach for without thinking? That’s them.”
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Good design evolves. The Deck Chino takes everything you love about the Pinch and lets it breathe.
Same relaxed block through the thigh — just looser at the hem. A cleaner drape, wider stance, and an easy, natural flow.
Cut from premium cotton twill with the same quiet detailing — corozo buttons, herringbone waistband, garment-dyed finish — it’s the Pinch’s laid-back brother.
To pinch or not to pinch — that’s the question.
As PARA-DAIZA grows, so does our commitment to how and where we make things.
We’re proud to say the original Pinch Chino is now moving to production in Scotland
— crafted by local makers we know and trust. It’s the same best-selling fit, now built even closer to home.
Because for us, it’s simple: keep it honest, keep it local, and keep it built to last.
